Frequently asked questions
What is XERF and how long does it last?+
XERF is a multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency treatment designed to deliver controlled RF energy into the deeper layers of the skin, supporting collagen production and firmer-looking skin. How long results last varies between individuals depending on age, lifestyle, skin condition and the natural ageing process. Because ageing continues regardless, maintenance treatments are commonly recommended to support the result over time.
Is XERF invasive?+
No. XERF is a non-invasive treatment. There are no needles, no incisions and no injections, and the surface of the skin is not broken. Energy is delivered through the skin using a handpiece with integrated cooling, which is why there is generally no downtime and most clients return to normal activity immediately.
Does XERF treatment really work?+
XERF is designed to support the skin’s natural collagen remodelling process, and change develops gradually over the weeks and months following treatment rather than immediately. How much difference you see depends on your age, your degree of skin laxity and your skin condition. It supports firmness in the skin and is a different category of treatment to surgery, so if your goals sit beyond what it can reasonably deliver we will tell you that at consultation rather than sell you a course.
How much does XERF cost in Adelaide?+
The cost depends on the area being treated and how many sessions your skin needs, which is why we do not publish a single figure. Your consultation includes an assessment of your skin and a clear quote before you commit to anything. The consultation itself is complimentary.
What is XERF comparable to?+
XERF sits at the non-invasive end of the radiofrequency range. Compared with RF microneedling such as Potenza or Morpheus8, XERF uses no needles and has no downtime, but works more gradually. Compared with FaceTite and AccuTite, which deliver energy beneath the skin through a fine cannula under local anaesthetic, XERF is far less involved with a correspondingly gentler result. Which one suits you depends on your degree of laxity and how much recovery time you can accommodate.
How many XERF treatments will I need?+
The recommended number depends on your age, skin condition, degree of laxity and desired outcome. Some clients may have a single treatment followed by maintenance, while others may benefit from a personalised treatment series. This is discussed at your consultation.
Does XERF hurt?+
Most clients describe the treatment as a comfortable warming sensation. The level of heat may vary across different areas of the face. XERF uses integrated cooling and adjustable treatment settings to help maintain comfort. Topical anaesthetic is generally not required, although individual experiences may vary.
Is there any downtime?+
Downtime is generally minimal, and most clients can return to their usual activities shortly after treatment. Temporary redness, warmth, tenderness or mild swelling may occur and usually settles naturally.
When will I see results?+
Some clients may notice an initial improvement in the appearance of firmness or definition after treatment. Further changes may develop gradually over the following weeks and months as collagen remodelling takes place. Results and timing vary between individuals.
Are there any side effects?+
Common temporary effects may include redness, warmth, mild swelling, tenderness and temporary sensitivity. Less common risks are possible with all energy-based treatments. These will be discussed with you during your consultation before you provide consent.
How long do the results last?+
The longevity of results varies depending on age, lifestyle, skin condition and the natural ageing process. Maintenance treatments may be recommended to support longer-term results.
Is XERF suitable for all skin types?+
Radiofrequency treatments can generally be considered across a broad range of skin tones because they do not rely on targeting pigment. However, suitability must still be assessed individually.
